FAQS

Genex Fiberglass Scaffolding
  • WHY USE FIBERGLASS SCAFFOLDS?

Fiberglass scaffolds offer an alternative to traditional metal and aluminum scaffolds. Fiberglass scaffolds are ideal in situations where a lightweight, non-conductive and non-corrosive scaffold is needed.

  • WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF USING FIBERGLASS?

Besides being lightweight, non-conductive, and non-corrosive, fiberglass scaffolds require no maintenance beyond cleaning. Fiberglass is resistant to most chemicals and does not rust.

  • ARE FIBERGLASS SCAFFOLDS SAFE?

For the same reason electricians always use fiberglass ladders, one should use fiberglass scaffolds. Fiberglass scaffolds cost a bit more than steel or aluminum, but offer superior safety benefits on the job.

One of the big problems with rolling towers that are made of conductive materials is that the person or persons moving it can hit energized materials overhead. The overhead electricity is conducted right down to them, and they can be severely injured or killed.

  • HOW MUCH DOES A GENEX FIBERGLASS SCAFFOLD COST?

The price depends on a series of variables: The width of the frames, the length of the platforms, and the height of the tower. Desired accessories also figure into the cost. Randall Industries can provide a detailed, item-by-item quote at no charge based on the dimensions listed above.

  • WHAT HAPPENS IF A FIBERGLASS SCAFFOLD COMPONENT FALLS TO THE GROUND?

It must be examined closely for breaks and cracks. Joints and fittings should be examined to check for breaks and looseness. Damaged pieces must be repaired if possible or replaced.

  • HOW OFTEN SHOULD THE SCAFFOLD BE INSPECTED?

Any scaffold should be thoroughly inspected before each use. The Genex instruction booklet has a checklist that should be followed.

  • IS IT POSSIBLE TO OBTAIN SINGLE PART REPLACEMENTS FOR THE SCAFFOLD?

Of course. In particular, the modularity of Genex Scaffolds means that every single component of the scaffold can be replaced.

  • WHAT IS THE WARRANTY FOR THE SCAFFOLD?

Genex Fiberglass Scaffolds are warranted against manufacturing defects for 12 months from date of purchase.

  • CAN I BUY MY SCAFFOLD PIECE BY PIECE AND ADD TO IT OVER TIME?

Yes. Again, the modularity of Genex Fiberglass Scaffolds means that you can complete the structure over a period of time as well as replace single components.

  • IS GENEX FIBERGLASS SCAFFOLDING COMPATIBLE WITH GENIE’S OLD ALUMINUM (ALU-TEC) AND FIBERGLASS (PRO-TEC) SCAFFOLDING?

Absolutely! They are all dimensionally identical. The oldest piece made by Genie will fit perfectly with the newest piece made by Genex. Some of the materials now being used are actually superior to the ones utilized when Genie was making the scaffolds.
