CAN GENEX FIBERGLASS SCAFFOLDS BE SET UP ON STAIRS? The answer is YES! Randall can work with you to calculate the best way to get the job done safely. Certain measurements have to be taken into account, such as the rise and run, and the width of the stairs. Generally, scaffold is built on stairs by adding an extra frame on top of the base frame that is lowest in the staircase. By bracing between the base frame on the high end and the base and upper frame on the low end, a strong stable base can be constructed on stairs. Contact Randall Industries for more information.

GENEX SCAFFOLDS GIVE YOU OPTIONS FOR YOUR FOUNDATION With Genex Fiberglass Scaffolds, you have several options for how you can outfit your base. If you will be rolling your scaffold, you will want casters. Genex offers both 5” and 8” diameter casters. Both have a foot activated brake. 5” casters are great for indoors and when you need to be able to roll the base through a standard height doorway. 8” casters are better if you are using the scaffold outside or on rough surfaces. If the scaffold is going to be stationary, base plates are the way to go. Base plates are used in place of casters and they have a flat disk that sits flush on the ground. The scaffold can’t roll with base plates, and the plates even have holes in them so they can be nailed or screwed down.

Genex Fiberglass Scaffolds were originally developed by Genie Industries of Redmond, WA. Genie called their fiberglass scaffolds PRO-TEC. Genie sold the scaffold line to a company in Italy who began producing it under the Genex name in 1993. Soon after that, Genex removed several conductive elements from the product and began calling it UNI-TEC. Randall Industries is the sole North American importer for the fiberglass scaffold that Genex manufactures. The product has stayed dimensionally identical over the years, so the oldest piece made by Genie will work with a piece coming off the line today.
